Hopleaf's Party Room is on the second floor, directly above the main bar, overlooking Clark Street. The room has its own bar and restrooms, and is suitable for groups of up to 45 persons (see Details section below). Please note that the second floor is not serviced by an elevator and therefore is not handicapped-accessible.

Charges and minimums:

* Deposit: To reserve the party room, we require a $200 deposit which will be applied towards your bill. This amount is non-refundable if you cancel your event within one week of your scheduled date.
* Room charge: $200
* Beverages & Food: see below
* Gratuity: To either of the plans below will be added an 18% gratuity.

Upstairs Bar Packages:

* Friday & Saturday Days (events must end by 6:30pm), Sunday-Thursday Days & Nights:
-- Option A --- $12 per person per hour
Open bar: 4 drafts of your choice, 45 bottled beers well and top shelf liquor, house wines and sodas.
-- Option B --- $9 per person per hour
4 American microdrafts, well liquors (Gordons Gin and Vodka, Bacardi Rum, Seagrams 7 & Jim Beam Bourbon), house wines and sodas.

Note: If your choice of draft beers is one not normally carried by Hopleaf (i.e. Bud Lite) we would have to sell you the entire keg, regardless of whether it was all consumed.

Note: In certain circumstances it is possible to use an outside source for catering. For example, if only pizza will do---which we do not provide---we can accommodate that. This must be arranged in advance. We may charge a small fee for extra clean-up costs, also to be determined in advance.

Payment:
is due at the conclusion of the event. Cash or credit cards are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or Diners Club).
Checks may be accepted by pre-arrangement only.

Rules:
The rules of the house apply during private events. Adherence to these rules allows everyone, including us, to relax and have a good time.

* Patrons will not be over-served. Unsafe behavior, illegal activity or vandalism will result in the offending parties being asked to leave.
* Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and may not be in any other part of Hopleaf besides the private party room. Minors are strictly forbidden from consuming any alcoholic beverages.
* We can accommodate an event that starts before our regular business hours. However, Hopleaf, like all 2 o'clock-licensed establishments in Chicago, must be completely vacated by 2am Sunday through Friday and 3am on Saturday. Therefore, events should end by 1am Sunday through Thursday.
* Collection of cover charges is not permitted.

Ambience and Details:

* Maximum capacity of the party room is 45 persons for informal events, 40 for formal sit-down events.
* As per City of Chicago code, smoking is not allowed anywhere inside Hopleaf. Outside, smoking must be at least 15 feet away from the entrances of Hopleaf and neighboring venues.

* You may bring your own music CDs or we can provide the classic jazz, r&b, blues, and soul that plays throughout the Hopleaf every day.
* Many of our party guests like to decorate a bit with flowers, balloons etc. If you need access in advance to do so, please let us know.
* Hopleaf has no elevator and the second floor is accessed only by stairs. Please note that second floor is not handicapped-accessible.
